Introduction

Retailers often conduct trials to see if new ideas or products work before significant money is invested in implementing those ideas across many stores. Examples of trials in selected stores would typically include new products, new store layouts or new store designs for a refit programme. This will usually result in regular analysis of the trial but requires reentry of the products and/or locations in the trial each time any reporting of sales is run. This new function will allow users to set up the products and/or locations in the trial in advance and simply select the named trial each time any reporting is required. 

Note: This feature is controlled by the ‘Trial’ Licence. Please speak to your Account Manager for more information.  

Competitors Set-Up

To set up a new Trial, 

• select the Merchandise menu from the Cybertill Back Office. 

 

• Click on Trials under the Trial Analysis section. 

  

In this screen all current and complete trials will show in the Trial List. The Trial List will open. If you are yet to create any Competitiors, this page will apear blank. 

To add a new Trial,

• click on the New button at the bottom of the screen. 

 

The New Trial page will open. 

In the Trial Name* field, 

• enter a unique name for the Trial you are creating. 

Next,  

• select the product that are going to be on trial by either using the Trial Category option or the Trial Item option. 

Once items are selected,  

• choose the locations of which the trial will take place. 
• Select the dates when the trial will Start and End.  

• Once all options are selected click Save.

All Trials can be found in the Trial List by clicking the Back To List button at the bottom of the screen.

Trial Reporting

When a product is sold in the chosen trial locations, results of the trials will filter through into both Sales and Stock reports. 

The reports for Trial monitoring are Stock Sales Overview (found in the Stock menu), General Overview (found in the Stock menu), the Detailed Stock Report (found in the Stock menu), and Sales Analysis found in the Sales menu).  

Each report will now have an extra filter option called Trial Name. If the user wishes to run report for a specific Trial item then the Trial Name will need to be selected. 

• Generate the report to display the results.

Only items from that trial will then filter through to the next report.
