Transfer Schedule UDDI Import Job
Introduction
We have implemented a bespoke change to ‘Inter Branch Transfers’ (IBT) via a new Licence Feature called IBT Collection Delivery Schedules. For further information on this, please speak to your Account Manager.
Note: This change was implemented for a retailer that operates a ‘Hub and Spoke’ approach to transfers.
Example: Transfer would be delivered via the main warehouse (hub).
- IBT raised for Item A from LOC A to LOC B
- Item A PICKED UP from LOC A.
- Item A DELIVERED to warehouse.
- Item A PICKED UP from warehouse.
- Item A DELIVERED to LOCB.
The new processes implemented are based around an uploaded transfer schedule. The change utilises the transfer schedule and calculates location(s) which will result in the item reaching the requesting location on the soonest possible date.
Example:
- Today’s date: 25/10/2018
- Locations A: Deliveries / Collections every Monday - Next Del 29/10/2018.
- Locations B: Has stock of ‘Item A’ and ‘Deliveries / Collections’ every Tuesday - Next collection 30/10/2018.
- Locations C: Has stock of ‘Item A’ and ‘Deliveries / Collections’ every Saturday - Next collection 27/10/2018.
Outcome: Requesting the item from LOCC would result in the item being received on the 29/10/2018. If the IBT was requested from the LOCB, the item would be received a week later (05/11/2018).
ITEM WILL BE RECEIVED SOONER IF REQUESTED FROM LOCC.
Transfer Schedule UDDI Import Job.
Found within Admin > User Defined Data Interchange List is a new UDDI import job for the importing of the transfer schedule information.
The ‘Transfer Schedule’ to be uploaded must contain the following data:
Example:
MAIN,LOCC,2018-10-27 09:00,2018-10-27 10:01
LOCC,MAIN,2018-10-27 10:10,2018-10-27 17:00 MAIN,LOCATION A,2018-10-29 09:00,2018-10-29 10:01.
New Default Setting
We’ve added a new Default Setting (found within Admin > Default Setting > General), which is a new single selection dropdown field, called IBT Collection Day.
There are 2 options available:
- Include Current Day
- Exclude Current Day
If set to ‘Include Current Day’, locations with a collection on the current day will be considered based on collection time.
Example:
- Location A > Current date/time: 25/10/2018 13:00.
- Location A: Deliveries / Collections every Monday - Next Del 29/10/2018.
- Location B with collection today at 11:00. ➢ Location C with collection today at 15:00.
Outcome:
Location B collection today is in the past. Therefore, the next collection from LOCB will be on the 01/11/2018. Delivery to LOCATION A – 05/11/2018.
Location C collection date/time has not yet been reached. Therefore, the item can be collected from LOCS on 25/10/2018 and delivery to LOCATION A – 29/10/2018.
If set to ‘Exclude Current Day’, locations with a collection on the current day will not be considered.
Example:
- Location A > Current date/time: 25/10/2018 13:00.
- Location A: Deliveries / Collections every Monday - Next Del 29/10/2018.
- Location B with collection today at 11:00. ➢ Location C with collection today at 15:00.
The collections today at locations ‘B’ and ‘C’ will be ignored when calculating the collection today. Therefore, the next collection from LOCB and LOCC will be on the 01/11/2018. Delivery to LOCA – 05/11/2018.
New Transfer Requests
We have added a new column to the ‘Transfer details’ table – ‘Expected Del Date’ (locations are listed by earliest delivery date, followed by Available Stock, and then if there are multiple stores that match those criteria, they are then in a randomised order).
